.blog domain has finally arrived. Grab your favorite one from get.blog

Anyone can now sign up for a dot blog domain name at the regular available prices. People can log on and secure their own .blog domain name from November the 21st, 2016 at 3pm. However, there are some restrictions regarding trademark names.

If it infringes a registered trademark, then you have to make sure that you are not doing the similar business as the trademark owner. For example, you have registered for abc.blog. If the ‘abc’ trademark owner has submitted their trademark record to the Trademark Clearinghouse, then right after the registration you will receive an email like below:

Dear Customer,
You have received this email because you have applied for a domain name which
matches at least one trademark record submitted to the Trademark Clearinghouse.

Prior to proceeding with the registration, you must review the Trademark Notice
at the link below. You must represent that you have received and also understand the
notice, and to the best of your knowledge you are aware that your registration and use of the
requested domain name will not infringe on the trademark.

Please note if this process is not completed within 48 hours, the registration
will be cancelled.
Thank you for your continued business.

Once you click the link, it will take you to a page like below:

If your intention is not to do similar business like ‘abc’ Trademark owner, then you may want to continue the next step of registration. For example, you want to do blogging about your fruit shop. If this is the case then go ahead and accept the agreement to secure your abc.blog. It is yours.

Redirect to external blog:

You can redirect your dot blog domain to your preferred URL. Get.Blog can also point dot blog domain to other hosting provider. In that scenario you just have to send an email to [email protected] along with the ‘Nameservers’ information of your hosting provider. For example, if your hosting provider is godaddy.com then probably your ‘Nameservers’ would be ns01.domaincontrol.com and ns02.domaincontrol.com
